You are invited to join us for an exciting day of inshore sportfishing action or deepwater bottom fishing aboard The Poacher on North Carolina's beautiful Outer Banks .....Full-day and half-day charters for striped bass, cobia, bluefish, spanish mackerel, king mackerel, and offshore wreck species such as tilefish, sea bass, groupers and amberjacks in the ocean and sounds surrounding Oregon Inlet, North Carolina. The Poacher is a proud member of the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center fleet, home of world-class boats and fishermen. We have the shortest run (10 minutes) from the northern Outer Banks to the inshore Atlantic fishing grounds, so your time is spent fishing, not riding! Our goal is to blend "putting some fish in the box" and having fun on the water with conservation of and respect for the fish species that we rely on daily.

Are you looking for a professional, experienced captain, who will treat you right? You've found him. Captain Devin Cage has 20 years of professional fishing experience in North Carolina, South Florida, Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, Africa, The Bahamas, and USVI.

Captain Devin has been a United States Coast Guard licensed captain since 1987. He has owned and operated The Poacher for the past 9 seasons and has fished and hunted the oceans and sounds of the Outer Banks for 25 years as a local resident. Sportfishing is his business and his livelihood, not just his hobby. He has been included in several issues of Saltwater Sportsman and Sport Fishing magazine in relation to his striped bass and cobia experience (12/99, 6/00).

In 1999, while fishing aboard The Poacher, an angler landed the largest cobia caught in the state of North Carolina that year weighing 90 pounds, earning the angler first place in the 1999 North Carolina Saltwater Citation Program.
